On occasion, your Facebook connection may need to be re-established. You'll know when this is the case if you are seeing a green check mark on your Destinations tab and you have selected Facebook as a destination for an event, but when the event streams it does not hit Facebook. If this is your case, follow these Instructions for revoking Facebook permissions and reconnecting Facebook destinations.
Steps to reconnect Facebook on the Dashboard
1. Remove the current Facebook destination from your LiveControl Dashboard. Head to the Stream Settings Tab --> Destinations sub-tab to do so.
2. Go to Facebook and Login. Click your profile icon on the upper right of the screen and navigate to: Settings > Settings and Privacy.
3. On the menu to the left, your LiveControl permission access will be in one of two places, either:
Apps and websites or Business Integrations.
4. Locate LiveControl on the list of allowed apps and remove it.
5. Go back to the Dashboard and add the Facebook destination the same way you did previously:
-
Make sure to give access to the viewers you want the streams to be visible to (Friends only, Public, etc.)
-
Make sure you select the page for your organization in the drop down menu
6. Most important step: If you have any events that were scheduled prior to you updating the connection, Facebook will need to be re-added to EACH event. Head to the edit button to re-select Facebook for any upcoming events. If you don't do this, the event will not stream to Facebook.
7. And you are back in business! Run a test that streams to Facebook to verify this re-connection worked for you.
Note - changing the password to the Facebook account that was used to connect the destination may affect the destination's connectivity. If you change your Facebook password, we recommend following the above steps to delete and then re-add the destination.
