What is RemoteMix?
RemoteMix is LiveControl’s solution for monitoring and fine-tuning your live stream audio in real time. While your videographer produces your stream, our remote mixing expert listens to your stream in a controlled environment and mixes your stream audio to ensure a clean, polished live stream mix.
As your service progresses, audio levels may shift. RemoteMix lets our team make quick, seamless adjustments such as correcting low or distorted (clipping) audio, bringing in channels that were muted by mistake, or balancing overall levels. Our goal is to enhance your existing in-house mix. This feature is only available for Produced events.
What LiveControl Can Adjust with RemoteMix
LiveControl is able to make the following real-time adjustments to your live stream mix:
- Adjust individual channel levels on the mix
- Reduce the overall output if the mix is clipping
- Unmute channels that should be active
- Refine and polish the live stream mix based on the in-house mix
Our RemoteMix expert follows the flow of your event and makes the audio changes in real-time. This offering does not require cue sheets or runs of show - our audio expert responds to live changes in audio levels and makes adjustments as needed!
Interested in our audio mixer taking real-time cues for timing-specific mixing during the service? Talk to your Customer Success Manager about upgrading your RemoteMix.
What LiveControl Cannot Adjust with RemoteMix
To ensure the integrity of your in-house audio system, RemoteMix does not provide:
- Changes to the in-house mix
- Control of EQ, compression, gates, reverb, or other on-board processing
- Building a completely new mix from scratch
- Renaming channels or editing labels
What’s Needed During Installation
To enable RemoteMix functionality, the following items must be in place during setup:
- Approved digital mixer: Your mixer must be on LiveControl’s compatibility list - check the bottom of this page to see if your device is listed
If you’re unsure if your mixer is compatible, contact our Production Success team at Support@LiveControl.io.
- Network connection: Your digital mixer must be connected to your local network.
- On-network computer: A computer on the same network as the mixer is required to run the RemoteMix agent. This allows your on-site audio technician to grant RemoteMix permissions for the live-stream mix. This computer (PC or Mac) needs to be hardwired to the network at least an hour prior to and during services. If you already use the Graphics Add-On, we can typically use the same computer. Please let us know if you require a computer.
What LiveControl Needs Before Any Live Service
To ensure a smooth experience, please confirm the following before your scheduled service:
- The digital audio console is on the same network as the LiveControl encoder.
- Audio is routed from the console to the LiveControl audio interface via an analog connection (XLR or ¼" TRS).
- If you do not currently have a dedicated live stream mix, please prepare a duplicate of your in-house mix as a separate mix group.
- Each channel must be clearly labeled.
- Fader positions should be tested and set to appropriate levels.
Why This Setup Works
This configuration enables LiveControl to make quick, non-intrusive enhancements to your live stream audio. By building on the foundation of your existing in-house mix, RemoteMix ensures that your stream sounds professional, balanced, and consistent—without requiring changes to your on-site workflow.
