What is the Road Kit?
The LiveControl Road Kit is an all-in-one production solution designed for easy setup and breakdown at one-off events. All core components are housed in a rugged Flight Case built to withstand transport and protect your equipment from shock.
The Road Kit includes everything you need to get your event live streamed:
- LiveControl Encoder (Rack Mounted)
- Audio Interface with 2-channel inputs (Stereo XLR or 1/4")
- Pre-configured Router for IP camera transmission
- Pre-configured PoE+ Network Switch (8 ports)
- Portable Field Monitor, Mouse, and Keyboard for backup troubleshooting
- 100' of Snagless Cat 6 cable (for internet connection)
- Power Supply

Does the Road Kit come with cameras?
Most customers pair the Road Kit with a portable Camera Kit (available for purchase or lease). Each Camera Kit includes:
- Pelican Case
- PTZ Camera(s)
- 100' of Snagless Cat 6 cable (per camera)
- Tripod (per camera)
Each kit is custom built for your specific use case, with all components designed for quick and easy setup by your team.
How Do I set up the Road Kit?
Follow these steps to get your Road Kit up and running. Setup typically takes under 30 minutes.
First Time? If you're in the onboarding process or setting up your kit for the first time, you'll complete these steps with our Production Success team during a scheduled meeting.
- Unbox the Road Kit. Remove the LiveControl Road Kit from the flight case and place it safely on the ground or on a sturdy table.
- Connect to the internet. Using the included Cat 6 cable, plug your internet source into Port 1 on the router located on the back of the Road Kit.
- Power on the unit. Plug the included blue Power-Con cable into the back of the Road Kit and connect it to a power outlet. The unit will power on automatically.
- Set up your cameras. Mount each camera on its tripod. Run a Cat 6 cable from each camera to any available open port on the white network switch on the back of the Road Kit. The cameras will power on automatically via PoE+.
- Connect your audio. Plug your audio source into the front of the audio interface using either an XLR or 1/4" cable.
- Confirm you're online.
- If you're in the Onboarding process, you'll run a test with our Production Success team during your Technical Training Meeting.
- If you are not setting up your kit for the first time, you may text or call LiveControl Support at 310-361-4169 to confirm your kit is online and ready to go.

Do I need any technical experience to set up the Road Kit? No prior technical experience is required. Each Road Kit is custom built and pre-configured for your specific use case, so your team can follow the steps above to get up and running quickly. How many cameras can I connect to the Road Kit? The Road Kit includes an 8-port PoE+ network switch. One port is reserved for your internet connection, leaving up to 7 ports available for cameras or other networked devices.
What type of audio inputs does the Road Kit support? The included audio interface supports 2-channel input via Stereo XLR or 1/4" (quarter-inch) connectors.
Do I need to purchase cameras separately? The Road Kit does not include cameras by default. Most customers add a Camera Kit, which is available for purchase or lease and comes with PTZ cameras, tripods, and cabling. Contact your LiveControl representative to add a Camera Kit to your order.
