What is the Automated Add-On?
The Zoom Add-On brings your LiveControl broadcast into your Zoom meeting! Our automation allows our stream to join as a participant in the Zoom meeting, and push the LiveControl broadcast directly into your Zoom meeting. This feature works well for those that can follow the Zoom settings requirements listed below (If not, you'll need our non-automated Zoom Add-On).
Contact Customer Success to add Automated Zoom to your account.
How do I use the Automated Zoom Add-On?
Scheduling
- To access this add-on, contact Customer Success to enable this feature on your account.
- Once enabled, add Zoom to a Static or Produced Event by toggling on the Zoom Event feature in the scheduling flow and entering your meeting information.
Day-Of
- On the day of your event, the LiveControl system will join the Zoom between 60 and 5 minutes prior to event start time. Ensure that your Zoom host starts the meeting at least 10 minutes before the event so that our automation can successfully enable our system to join.
- Verify that the host's Zoom Settings are set exactly as requested so that the automation functions correctly.
- To get to the Zoom Settings, have the host do the following:
- Open up Zoom (these images are from the desktop app) & login if necessary
- Select the "Meetings" Tab
- Identify the meeting for which you need to verify the settings, and select "More" (the three dots icon) for that event
- Select "Edit"
- On the "Edit Event Tab", ensure that Participant Video is turned "on". Then, scroll down to the bottom of the tab where it says "Advanced".

FAQ
Can I stream to other platforms?
It is possible to simultaneously send the broadcast to other streaming platforms, but it is delivered straight from the encoder and thus will not show the Zoom meeting.
Can I use Zoom with any type of event?
This requires a Static or Produced event.
When does the LiveControl System join the Zoom meeting?
60 to 5 minutes prior to your event start time. You must have your Zoom meeting start at least 10 minutes before the event start time.
What does my team need to do?
Someone from your team needs to host the Zoom on their own computer, and they need to start your Zoom meeting at least 10 minutes prior to the event start time. They do not have to be in the sanctuary to host.
How long is the delay and/or latency?
There is minimal delay of the overall video feed when using the Zoom integration.
What about singing/speaking in unison?
Neither LiveControl nor Zoom have found a solution for this yet! Because we are dealing with everyone’s home internet, and latency through the variety of servers processing all of the signals, this is unavoidable. Syncing audio doesn’t fix the problem.
How can those in the sanctuary follow the Zoom meeting?
The overall need is to prevent the microphones in the venue from picking up any of the audio from the Zoom meeting.
There are three solutions for this:
- The Zoom meeting can be monitored VIDEO ONLY in the venue with all audio and microphones disabled.
- The person in the sanctuary could monitor via a laptop (or tablet or phone) in the sanctuary with themselves muted and on headphones.
- An audio engineer can be vigilant about muting and unmuting - each time a presenter is speaking in Zoom, the Zoom would be unmuted and the in-room microphones would be muted. Any time that presenter finishes speaking, the Zoom would be muted and the in-room microphones would be reenabled.
Please Note: If the Zoom is heard in the room and picked up by the microphones, this is fed into the LiveControl broadcast that is joined into the Zoom meeting. This causes a feedback loop with an ongoing echo.
How do I know which participant is the LiveControl Feed?
You will see a participant that is showing your live stream of your sanctuary labeled with your congregation’s name, for instance “Temple Isaiah’s Live Stream or Hope Baptist Church’s Main Sanctuary”.
Can I mute the LiveControl feed?
We do not recommend muting the LiveControl stream, as your team will need to remember to unmute it.
Can we use this for integrating images or video?
Yes - for those in the Zoom meeting! A participant in your Zoom could share their screen with the desired videos or images. These graphics, like Zoom participants, would not be included in the live stream to the Web Player, and would only be visible to those in the Zoom meeting.
