What is the Trim and Clip Feature?
The Trim and Clip feature allows you to edit recordings directly in your Content Library without needing external software.
- Trim a stream to remove unwanted moments at the start or end of your stream - all while keeping the original link.
- Create a clip to highlight special moments - great for short-form content. The clip is saved as a new, separate asset while your original recording remains unchanged.
This feature is included with all LiveControl accounts and available for all event types (except Simulated Live).

FAQ
Can I download the new clip I've created?

Which event types allow me to use the trim and clip feature?
This is available for all event types except for Simulated Live.
Can I undo a trim after I've replaced the original recording?
No. Once you replace a recording, the original version is permanently overwritten. If you're unsure, create a new clip first to preview your edit before replacing the original.
How long does it take to process my trim or clip?
Processing times vary depending on the length of your recording. You'll receive a notification once your trim or clip is ready in the Content Library.
Is there a limit to how many clips I can create from one recording?
No.
Can I trim or clip a recording that's still in progress?
No. The Trim and Clip feature is only available for completed recordings in your Content Library.
What happens to the original recording's analytics when I replace it?
Analytics carry over to the new asset.
Can I edit a clip I've already created?
You can trim or create new clips from your original full recording at any time, but you cannot re-edit clips that have already been created. To make changes, create a new clip from the original recording.
Will my trimmed or clipped video maintain the same quality as the original?
Yes. Your edited videos will maintain the same quality and resolution as the original recording.
Can I share a clip on social media directly from the Dashboard?
You'll need to download the asset first, then upload to the social media platform. Alternatively, those with access to Simulated Live may use this to stream a new asset to social media. Simulated Live is only recommended for assets longer than 5 minutes - shorter clips should be manually uploaded to the destination.
If I create a clip, does it have its own shareable link?
Yes. Each clip you create becomes a separate asset with its own unique link that you can share independently.
