There are two ways to limit access to your events.
Option 1: Password protected events
The the simplest approach is to create a Password Protected event and to share the link with the people who you want to access your event. To set up a password protected event, please follow the steps here.
Please Note:
LiveControl only creates a single password protected link for your event. So if you share this link, it will be the same link for everyone. However, only the people that have the link will be able to access your event.
We recommend that you email or distribute this link as close to the start of your event as possible to limit people sharing the link with others.
Option 2: Private, invite-only events using YouTube
For customers with the simulcasting function enabled
If you only want the people you've invited to access the event, then using YouTube to create invite-only events is the way to go. This is a great option if you have a YouTube channel and have already connected YouTube as a destination in the LiveControl Dashboard. For instructions on adding YouTube to your LiveControl account, please follow the steps here.
Here is how you can create invite-only events using YouTube:
Create a new Produced Event in the LiveControl Dashboard, and make sure to password protect the event (so those with Web Player access can't view the event off of YouTube).
-
When selecting your Destinations make sure to select your YouTube account.

After creating your event, go to your YouTube Studio account and you should see your LiveControl event here: https://studio.youtube.com/channel/UC/livestreaming.
-
By default, the Visibility setting for your YouTube video will be set to Public. If you click on Public you'll see a box open with a two other Privacy options.

-
Click on Private and you'll see a link appear that says Share Privately. Click on this link.

-
You'll now see a box that lets you share your video privately. This box allows you to enter multiple email addresses of the people you wish to watch this video. Only the people you invite will be able to watch. Make sure to check the Notify via email link at the bottom of the box.

The people you invite will receive an email from YouTube with a private link to watch your event on YouTube. That's it! You've successfully created a private, invite-only event using YouTube!
Please Note:
You are able to paste multiple emails at once in this invite box. This makes things easier when inviting large amounts of people.
If a user shares their invite with someone who isn't invited, they will see a message that says this video is private and they need to be invited to see it.
Users must have a Google Account to sign into YouTube.
