What is a Password Protected Event?
Password protection is one of the most secure ways to control who has access to your event. Adding a password to an event means that only people who know the password will be able to access the stream.
You are able to set a password during the event scheduling process, or after the event has already been streamed. You'll have the option to share a Web Player link that requires viewers to enter the password, or a password-embedded Web Player link.
How do I create a password protected event?
From your Dashboard, navigate to the Event Schedule tab and click on the Add New Event button.
Go through your standard event creation process. A password can be added to all event types including a Produced Event, Static Event and a Simulated Live Event.
In the Web Player Features section of the scheduling flow, you will see a Password toggle.
Click on this toggle, and you should see an input field appear where you can set your password. You can choose whatever password you want to set.
Once your password has been set, finish the steps to finalize your event booking.
On the Event Confirmation screen you will see a Web Player Link with the option to share a link with or without the password. If you choose the first option - Web Player Without Password - ensure that your viewers know what the Password is!
Editing your password
If you've already created your password but need to change it for some reason or simply need view your password because you've forgotten, follow these steps.
From your Dashboard, navigate to the Event Schedule tab and click on the gear icon for that particular event. Click Edit Event.
The scheduling flow will appear. In the Web Player Features section of the scheduling flow, you will see the Password option toggled on with the current password.
Update the password to the new desired password
Complete the scheduling flow to save the event
Ensure that you share the new password and/or new password-embedded link with the desired viewers
Managing your password in the Content Library: Past Events
If your event has already finished, you can still password protect it in case you want to share the recording link with people. Or maybe you want to remove or change the password. Follow these steps to learn how to do this.
From your Dashboard, navigate to the Content Library -> Library tab and click on the video you wish to edit. In this example we see a lock icon on the video thumbnail, meaning this video already has a password.
Once you've clicked into the video, click the Privacy button to edit the Password Settings.
A dialog box will appear where you can edit the Password:
If a password was already set you can view the password or choose to change or remove it all together
If no password has been set, you can choose to set one
