Once your Installation Check Meeting has been completed, please test your LiveControl system at least twice. It's best to test Monday through Thursday during business hours (6AM - 5PM PST) so that, in the event that you need assistance, someone from our Event Support Team is available to assist you.
Setting up a Test Event
- Navigate to your Event Schedule on the LiveControl Dashboard and click Add a New Event.
- Select Test Event from the list and click Next.
- Complete the steps of the scheduling process.
- A Web Player link will appear on the scheduling confirmation page:
- This stream will only be viewable/accessible to those with the link.
- Use the link to view and listen to your Test Event when it's live.
Notes about Test Events
- Test Events last up to 30 minutes.
- You may also use the Static Event feature (if that applies to your Dashboard), but this will be public and viewable to those who can see your web player.
- Test Events are stored in the Dashboard Archive once they have streamed, in case you need to review them, but will not appear on your public archive.
What to check during a Test Event
-
Sound
-
Can you hear your presenters clearly at the microphones?
-
Is the sound too loud or too soft?
-
-
Lighting
-
Do you need to turn on more lights in the room?
-
Are there windows you might want to cover to make sure they aren't too bright and overshadow the presenters?
- Are there any lights behind the presenters that might back-light them?
-
-
Framing
-
Do you need to adjust things in the room to be seen on camera?
-
Staging, band placement, lectern placement, etc.
-
-
Graphics Add-On (if applicable)
-
Are you able to see your graphics?
-
Is your local graphics technician feels comfortable using the program and knows how to troubleshoot?
-
-
All of your streaming destinations
-
Did your broadcast go live on Facebook, YouTube, or any other destination?
-
Are your stream keys and servers correct for Custom Destinations?
