We always recommend testing your Mobile App events to ensure the signal is strong and the picture looks good.
Test the Mobile App
1. Schedule a Test Event on the LiveControl Dashboard. Make sure to select your Mobile location as your location for the test. For more information on scheduling a Test Event, read on here!
2. Open the LiveControl: Mobile Streaming app on your iOS device, and make sure to sign in if you haven't already done so.
3. Position your device towards the scene you'd like to capture for the test.
4. Select "Enter Event" on the Test Event.
5. Start your Test Event. Use this time to check the cellular connection, the audio (you may have someone listen on the web player elsewhere, just note there is a 30 second delay) and the lighting.
6. Once you are done testing, end your event.
Troubleshooting Connectivity
We recommend running a test before your streams, from the location where you plan on streaming, to ensure you know how to position the device for optimal connectivity.
If you see Reconnecting on the screen during your live event, the most likely culprit is a bad network connection. A bad network connection can be caused by:
- Poor cellular service in the area
- Strength of the wifi connection
- A physical blockage, like a large marble wall or building.
Troubleshooting Steps:
1. Assess the surroundings - Are there any large stone objects potentially blocking cell service? See if moving the phone helps the connection improve.
2. Adjust the output settings - Needs to be adjusted before you start an event.
- Select the gear icon.
- Select Output Resolution.
- Standard resolution should be 720p
- Select the lower resolution, 480p
3. Record - If none of the above tips work and the connection is spotty enough to cause stream disruptions, we recommend recording the service and re-uploading it later. On the schedule view, select Record Only from the menu - Instructions Here.
